Are you writing a master's thesis, PhD dissertation, abstract or research proposal?
This is the area in which I have the most experience. I specialize in topics in the social sciences; however, I have worked with students writing about business, marketing, economics, engineering and fashion.
Prices start at 50 DKK per page (250-300 words), but it may be higher depending on time allowed for proofreading and whether editing is also requested. (A brief explanation of the difference between proofreading and editing is in the next column.)
Each major project includes a final face-to-face meeting (using Skype when necessary) where I explain my edits and suggestions. Students can ask questions about the work, improve their understanding of grammar rules and become more aware of their common mistakes.
My aim is that students become better English writers through the proofreading experience.
What's the difference between proofreading and editing?
Proofreading checks the quality of the text. This includes grammar, word usage, consistency and syntax (sentence construction). The goal is that the language of the paper is perfect.
Editing looks beyond the words on the page to examine the structure of the paper. How does it flow? How are the transitions? Does the paper answer the research question in a logical and effective way?
